Long Weekend
I went two days to the show in Cornwall with young Emma (Laureate Embelish) as well as Barbie and the Paris pups along for the ride.
After 18 years of driving a minivan, we sold our Odyssey last week and this was the first show in our new car. Pete helped me pack, and it couldn't have worked out better. Two 200 size crates fit in perfectly in the back on top of the x-pen. The grooming table was behind them, and then the Poodle crate fits in sideways with my tack box, extra supplies, clothes etc. beside that. There was room for luggage on top of the crates if need be. Since this is about the maximum I ever bring to a show, the new car should work out perfectly. I'm very happy. The show grounds at Farran Park are very lovely I'm not sure how long the Cornwall show has been held there, but the last time we exhibited at that show it was at the Civic Centre which was always memorable as it was downwind from the Dupont plant (and the sulphur smell). I found a great spot with shade close to the rings. Emma took reserve WB the first day and 2 points on Monday. Monday evening we were treated with a visit from Brenda Campbell (Anamchara Shelties). We had a very nice visit. We walked puppies in town for socializing. went to a movie (Julie and Julia...loved it) and then last evening and this morning took the dogs out back in the fields for a run.
Mayer able to keep up with the rest
We have recently had the back fields mowed, so the dogs had lots more area to run. The downside was the drainage ditch between the fields was easier to access and right away they made a dash for the water (and mud).

Oh Kim when i see this pictures i fell sad but at the same time happy. Happy because i was once there and shared these nice moments with you, the Laureates and Pete. I miss it SO MUCH and that is why i fell sad.
Hope to get back one time and in the meanwhile we wait your visit.
Lots of kisses

Great pictures Kim! Love to see the furkids playing in the mud - they're having such a blast!
I can only imagine how long it took to clean up the poodles after I left! Such a fun visit!

The dirtier they get the happier they are oh well nothing some soap , water and elbow grease won't take care of:) Nice car Kim good luck with it. We are off to the Cape Cod show in Falmouth suppose to be a wet windy couple of days nothing like a ocean storm when you show outdoors next to the ocean.
The dirty shelites pic is my favorite too. What happy they are.
You are always show us the greatiest photo. Thank you Kim!
It make us happy too.
Forgot to say something about the car and the packing:
"Oh Kim your are starting to be so european !!!!!!"
Ahahahahahahahahahahahah
So what kind of car did you buy? I love my Odyssey but it is getting long in the tooth and it is only a matter of time...something with four wheel drive would be nice as getting out of my street in winter is not easy, and with only one dog now I was thinking of downsizing.
My guys are nuts about mucking about in the water...except for the older girls who look at the young ones as if they are crazy; and really don't want them nearby when they come out and shake!
The new vehicle is a used Porsche Cayenne. It was supposed to replace Pete's old truck, but I fell in love with it. In the end we decided that it would be my main vehicle. The rear seat folds down perfectly flat, which is something you have to check when trying out SUV's...some will be on a slight slant and then the dogs will be either travelling uphill or downhill or sideways! Definitely something that we didn't want. For me, right now, this car is perfect.
I was in another city for a month due to my mother's visit to Korea I wasn't able to get my Laureate fix. It was so nice to see lovely photos and your witty writings again. Emma and Mayer are just to die for! Congrats on your new car as well!
