Creek Snapshot: May 21/09

The water level in the creek has decreased dramatically. At this time of year the grasses will start to grow in the creek, and soon there will be a small channel down the middle made by the muskrat.

Wild Goose Chase

A peaceful setting... ...until two pair of geese show up!
Then there are all kinds of squabbles! They chase each other this way and that... Calling each other names...
But that is water off a goose!
They just shake it off.

We couldn't be more pleased.

The bi-blue's

"LuAnne" sporting a weed corsage!
LuAnne's great-great granddaughter "Emma".Sticking her tongue out at her bigger cousin "Eva". Emma is small, but feisty! Being small has its almost being hit by a runaway Poodle!
So she's decided she's not going to take any guff from were you are walking you big white piece of fluff!
I'm serious! Get out of my space!!!

Bring On The May Flowers!

The daphne by the front door is our first flowering shrub.
Trillium by the driveway.
Violets in the lawn...Even weeds are beautiful!
The lower yard.
Daffodils naturalized in the junipers.
Startled geese.
A fly by...
Starting to green up.
I don't know if this is the right name, but I call them primroses. They are along the banks of the creek.
I love the willows!
