A bit of this, a bit of that...with a lot of free spirits.

Hello, my name is Kim and I'm a Costcoholic!

My friends know I spend a lot of time (and money) at Costco! Pete and I have even been known to visit Costco's in different cities to see what they is a real problem! I'm a self admitted costcoholic! We purchased this gazebo at our local Costco in June and it sat in the garage until we removed the pieces and put them in a separate yard. There they remained all summer, while weeds grew overtop until this past weekend when we found time to put it this stage, anyway. Now, this was not an easy feat, as it contained what must have been 900 pieces and instructions that were poorly translated from Chinese. All we need now is 8 to 10 strong people to lift the roof up onto its legs (as my Dad says...we need to have an "erection party")...hopefully before the snow flies!

Sad News

We learned this morning of the passing of a good friend, George Reinecke. Pete and George had worked together in the past and had formed a strong friendship. He had been ill for a number of years. Our condolances to his wife Annemarie, and sons, Stefan and Peter.

There is nothing like the excitement of getting a new puppy! This is something new for us, we are getting a Standard Poodle puppy! Her name is going to be "Bunny" and she is coming from Halifax from breeders Allison and Todd Foley (TG). While waiting for her arrival, we have bought lots of new equipment for clippers, more combs, brushes and scissors and we'll be installing a new stainless dog washing station. It has also gotten us going on putting together our new metal Gazebo from Costco ( was bought in June!!!). And we also have a new load of pea gravel for the dog yard, and have been shovelling like mad trying to get it spread out before she comes, as it is very dirty and needs to be rinsed off. The dogs are helping by playing "king of the castle" running up and down and loving the mountain of stone in their yard! I bought several books on Poodles and grooming, but wish Allison lived closer so I could watch and learn. This is going to be fun! We'll post pictures when she arrives.
